Meech International has strengthened its sales and support in Germany with the appointment of Harald Gruber. Mr Gruber, has extensive experience within the printing, packaging, plastic and converting markets and in his new roles of technical sales, Germany, he is responsible for selling the complete range of Meech equipment – electrostatic control, web cleaning and air technologies.

Meech International has introduced a simple but highly effective monitoring unit for its AC ionising systems, of which many thousands are in use around Europe in the graphic arts, packaging, converting, plastic and pharmaceutical industries. The new 904CM system, which can be seen at next month’s K2010 show in Germany (stand 11B60), is straightforward to fit and provides accurate monitoring of the performance of the emitter pins incorporated within the ionising bars.

Manufacturer Meech International has developed an innovative technology that breaks new ground in the field of electrostatic control and enables customers to significantly increase their process productivity and profitability. The new 977CM Pulsed DC controller is the first true closed loop static control system, incorporating a range of features that make it easier for the user to sustain optimum performance of their static control system and extend the interval between cleaning.

UK manufacturer Meech International is continuing to expand its global presence with the formation in China of a wholly owned subsidiary – Meech Static Eliminators (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. The Oxfordshire based company, which is a leading developer of static control, air and web cleaning technologies, is winning an increasing number of sales from China and during the next 12 months it will be confirming its long term commitment to the area by opening offices in Beijing and Guangzhou.

Meech International believes the development of its new IonRinse system presents a major leap forward in terms of energy saving and sustainability in the field of cleaning blown containers, bottles, cans, jars and pre-forms for use in the food and beverage industries. The Witney-based manufacturer has been involved in ionised cleaning technology for these markets for several years and has many leading names amongst its customers. The new fan-driven ionised air rinsing system is the result of more than 12 months of intense research and development.

Meech International has strengthened its UK sales team with the appointment of Paul Levene as sales engineer for the north of England. Mr Levene trained as a mechanical engineer and has an in-depth knowledge of the packaging, converting and adhesives industries. He was most recently UK sales manager for adhesives for paper converting at Henkel Ltd.

Meech International is sponsoring one of the UK teams taking part in the 6th Gore-Tex™ Transalpine-Run 2010, which starts on Saturday 4th September. The four-person team includes Anna Francis, niece of Meech International’s CEO and daughter of director Graeme Francis. Around 500 runners will set out to cover 305 km over eight days, starting in Germany and ending up, via Austria, in Italy on 11th September.

Meech International has strengthened its UK team with the appointment of Colin Cooper and Kelly Hopkins, plus the promotion of Jon Ferguson to the position of Capital Equipment Project Engineer. Colin Cooper has joined the Oxfordshire based manufacturer as a Design/Production Engineer with particular emphasis on product development, research and development and quality control. Kelly Hopkins has joined the in-house technical support and customer service department.

Meech International has strengthened its position as a major supplier of web cleaning technologies with the launch of ShearClean™, a non-contact system that is suitable for sectors ranging from narrow web label printing (litho, gravure, flexo) and converting to food packaging and pharmaceutical applications. ShearClean is also highly effective when used in applications involving coating.

Meech International’s ‘Rent to Buy’ scheme is becoming increasingly popular amongst companies that require solid evidence that the proposed equipment will provide the solution they require across all of the materials the system is likely to be used with. One of the latest manufacturers to benefit is Neschen Coatings, which purchased a double sided Tornado F5 contact web cleaning system after a three-month trial at its Basildon plant.

Pontypridd contract packer Complete Core Business Solutions has increased the productivity of one of its vertical form fill seal machines nearly 15 percent following the installation of two Meech 915 ionising bars above the sealing plates. The Welsh company did not realise that static was slowing down throughput, as owner Stephen Nicholls explains.
