Meech’s IML Solution Improves Quality for Chinese Injection Moulding Company

16.09.08

In China, Edart Electronics, an injection moulding company specialising in the production of laptop components, has installed a system from static control specialists Meech International to further improve quality. The system, recommended by Meech China’s local engineer, comprises a Model 992v3 static generator and a 994SPP – Single Point Pinning System.

In this application, the static generator creates a controlled level of static charge that is then delivered to the pinning heads. The pinning heads are connected to a 992v3 high voltage supply via a 6-way resistive splitter box. The individual resistive coupling ensures smooth spark-free pinning, with completely independent operation of each head. The static charge created by the 992v3 creates a temporary bond between the labels and the plastic mould and keeps them in place as the plastic is injected into the mould. The 994 Single Point Pinning System provides extremely compact pinning heads and is ideal for localised static pinning – such as in Edart’s application.

“This new solution is a significant improvement on the previous vacuum system that could result in marked products.” says Mr Murphy Lu, Manager at Edart Electronics. “The Meech engineer understood our requirements and has given us excellent service and support.”
