New System for Drying Waterborne Paints Increases Throughput and Profitability in the Car Refinishing Industry

SpeedDri is an in-booth modular system that runs solely from compressed air. Its innovative design, with no moving parts, means that it requires very little maintenance and its versatility allows an almost limitless set-up. It is an ideal alternative to other more expensive in-booth systems, while its cost is comparable to less efficient hand-held or stand–based systems. The basic system comprises a ring main that is mounted in plenum. Its design accommodates 14 fully adjustable and interchangeable drop points that allow the air amplifiers to be positioned wherever is appropriate for a particular job. Single and double drops further increase its flexibility while the unique bayonet fittings allow easy connection and removal. Existing compressed air supplies can be used, so there is no need for additional fan units. Using Venturi air amplifier technology, the ambient air is entrained and this results in lower compressed air consumption and costs.
